The Te Deum In Latin and English

The Te Deum is a song of praise from the Early Church. We should never cease praising God in good times and also in bad times.

I remember reading an account in a wonderful book, The Ideal of Reparation of a couple who watched as their dying son took his last breath. When he died, the mother looked at the Father and asked, “Well then, shall we say the “Te Deum”? And the Father answered that of course they should.

Simply amazing.

Below are the English and Latin Texts for the Te Deum. Also below is the most beautiful rendition of the Te Deum that I have ever heard.

te Dominum confitemur.
Te aeternum Patrem
omnis terra veneratur.
Tibi omnes Angeli;
tibi caeli et universae Potestates;
